This individual has responsibility for the consolidated financial statements for the Kidde Fire Protection Systems portfolio; including annual planning, strategic planning, capital deployment and overseeing the controls environment for the global business. This position has direct reports and indirect reports of approximately 15 people. This role works in a matrixed organization where other functions report through peers across the business. This would include Operations, International Trade Compliance, Contracts, Human Resources and others.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the organization to include financial analysis, reporting, cost controls, accounts payables and receivables, headcount reporting and labor reporting, eSOX, Revenue Recognition standard implementation, etc.

  • Directly assist the Senior Management Team with all strategy and tactics as they relate to budgetary matters, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and cash flow management

  • Lead, supervise, mentor and evaluate the work of the finance and accounting team, ensuring cross training of employees as appropriate

  • Interpret and follows Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) applicable to Company business.

  • Interpret government accounting policies and ensure compliance in cost distribution.

  • Review and verify the accuracy of charges billed to customers and controls disbursements.

  • Provide timely and accurate accounting/financial reporting, analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.

  • Assist Program Managers to drive financial performance and company growth.

  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

  • Provide senior management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.

  • Support internal financial audits of contract financials and financial controls.

  • Provide strategy and direction on improved productivity and adherence to quality standards.

  • Implement and drive a process of continuous improvement and cost reduction at the site by embracing ACE/Lean principles and tools including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping & other related methodologies to achieve highest quality, lowest cost & customer focused standards.

  • Actively support the Company policies, procedures, and workplace rules including environmental, health, and safety objectives to ensure compliance, keep our people safe and minimize risk.

  • Responsible for compliance to all UTC, UTAS and outside regulatory policies and procedures

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with an ERP system is required (SAP or otherwise).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other relevant master’s degree is preferred.

  • Experience with Hyperion or HFM is preferred.

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of finance experience.

  • Strong leadership, team building skills, and effective communication skills are required.

  • Must be an active leader in Ethics, EH&S and Quality initiatives.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
