Description

Are you a busy college student in need of a job? Well, our staff who work 3rd shift can study, after their work is done, while they get paid!

We are actively recruiting for Direct Support Professionals! Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live full and happy lives. Third shift staff monitor the night activities of the people we support, clean the residence and ensure the safety of the residents.You can study and do homework in between work activity!

The starting pay is $18.29 per hour. We offer excellent benefits, including very inexpensive employee health, dental, vision and life insurance as well as a 401K. Our DSPs earn 3 weeks paid leave in their first year!

You may also be needed to provide personal care that includes helping people with their personal hygiene, food preparation, and transportation needs. You must be at least 21-years old with a valid driver's license with clean driving record. Holding certificates in CPR, PMT, First Aid and being certified to pass medications is highly desired, butnot requiredas we will provide on the job training. Qualifications

  • The DSP shall have a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED.

  • Typically, 0-3 years on the job experience.

  • Ability to maintain assigned work hours.

  • Must maintain all LARC required and State mandated training certifications and re-certifications.

    COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

    Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, Outlook, and be comfortable using tablets and smartphones along with other general office equipment. Ability to work with and understand databases a must and the ability to learn technical skills.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The DSP shall have essential physical skills: be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, be able to lift at least 50 pounds (or ¼ own body weight), push/pull against potential resistance, and be able to implement non-physical and physical interventions and CPR with individuals supported when needed.

  • The DSP shall have adequate vision, reading, writing, and documentation skills, and hearing to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • The DSP must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.

  • The DSP will be engaged in speaking, sitting, walking, driving, listening, and in communicating both orally and in writing while performing his or her duties.

  • The employee must be able to listen and respond to questions and instructions.
