The University of Southern Maine Athletic Department is seeking applicants for temporary positions as Summer Camp Coaches.

We are seeking energetic camp staff to provide a safe and memorable experience for our campers. The staff will be responsible for coaching/teaching the campers in the chosen sport. The ideal candidate will be an excellent multitasker with a genuine passion for working with, and empowering, young campers. Applicants should be patient, fun-loving and confident in their ability to motivate and assist campers.

Camp responsibilities and duties:

  • Working under the camp director you will perform various duties throughout the week of camp involving teaching the fundamentals of the sport to campers.

  • Four day camp located on the Gorham Campus

  • Camp hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm, with some additional hours for pre-camp meetings and post-camp wrap up.

Boys SWISH Day Camp Dates: June 17 - 20, 2024

Girls Soccer Day Camp Dates: June 24 - 27, 2024

Girls SWISH Day Camp Dates: June 15 - 18, 2024

Softball Day Camp Dates: July 8 - 11, 2024

Baseball Day Camp Dates: July 22 - 25, 2024

Volleyball Day Camp Dates: July 29 – August 1, 2024

Coed Soccer Camp Dates: July 29 – August 1, 2024

Qualifications:

Must know the rules and fundamental techniques of playing and teaching the sport. Current and former high school/college athletes and current and former coaches preferred.

Minimum of $14.15/hour, could increase based on experience.

Other Information:
