The Position

Alene Candles LLC is seeking a Material Handler II in the Logistics Department for 1st shift. You will organize and transport production and support material and equipment within the area of assignment. You may use manual and powered material handling equipment and packaging equipment. There will also be a large receiving portion of the position. The skills, efforts, responsibilities and working conditions are outlined below and made part of this description.

Rate of Pay

The Material Handler II position pays $19.00/hr.

The Hours

This position works Monday-Friday, from 7am-3pm.

During our busy season, we anticipate there being overtime available. We work 1-2 Saturdays a month depending on customer demand. Busy season is typically April-August but is subject to change based on production needs.

The Location

We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH. This position is onsite.

Who We Are Looking For

The Material Handler II position is a physical role with lifting, bending, twisting, and being on your feet for the entire shift. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently. If you are a hard worker and someone with organizational skills that has a great eye for detail, this is the position for you! The ability to multitask and independently organize tasks is essential to this position.

Additional Job Details

  • Locate, pick, move, and store material and equipment according to established procedures, both written and verbal.

  • Unloads and stores material in proper locations and performs receiving transactions

  • Use material handling equipment such as hand and powered pallet movers, fork trucks and some powered packing equipment such as banders and shrink wrappers

  • Maintain proper documentation and records using various paper forms and computer systems

  • Follows and complies with all safety rules and regulations. Maintains individual work area/equipment in a neat, orderly manner. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment/tooling, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor. Count items and audit for package/shipping damage.

  • Maintain necessary records as required. Moves material as necessary in performance of duties. Cycle count as scheduled

  • Obtain and maintain proper training for powered industrial trucks. Maintain daily logs

  • Perform other duties as directed

Please note, this job has considerable physical demand consisting of frequent lifting or moving average weight material or occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material in difficult positions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 1-4 years of experience in a logistical background

  • 1+ year of experience with pallet jacks (manual and/or electric) and scan guns

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift experience is not required, but desired

  • Good communication skills and the ability to be accurate, patient, and responsible

  • Basic knowledge of computers. Data entry required and ability to function in our MRP system in order to enter transactions

  • Experience loading and unloading a 53-foot Box Truck

  • Experience and understanding of BIN Transfers

  • Inventory control experience

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Ability to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment
