Reporting to the Regional Director, the Senior Practice Manager is responsible for directing the overall operations at multiple practice sites. Partners with the Regional Director and Regional Medical Directors to establish goals including financial, quality, patient satisfaction, employee/provider satisfaction and access goals. Monitors goals regularly to ensure practice is profitable, efficient, and providing quality care. Accountable for goals and objectives related to population health management. Works collaboratively with other Senior Practice Managers to function as one group practice. Manages Practice Managers at practice sites.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for most productive and efficient provider schedule management at practice sites

  • Establishes work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the office, audits and reinforces standard work procedures

  • Accountable for the oversight of daily operations

  • In coordination with Regional Director and Regional Medical Directors develops and implements long range plans

  • Directs office operations to maximize patient access, provider productivity patient satisfaction, and quality outcomes

  • Coordinates staff and provider schedules to ensure proper coverage for quality patient care across the region

  • Facilitates the operations of a large group practice virtually and actual practice consolidations

  • Manages human resources – hiring, on-boarding, coaching, mentoring and evaluating staff

  • Seeks to create a team environment

  • Manages change and transitions by anticipating need, developing detailed plans and applying change initiatives to support staff

  • Manages, leads, and participates in process improvement initiatives

  • Ensures practice compliance with ProHealth policies, procedures and programs

  • Actively participates in practice, regional and organizational meetings

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 + years medical practice management experience

  • Proven experience successfully managing a team including hiring, on-boarding, coaching and evaluating. Recognizing and developing teams

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic health record, medical terminology, coding and billing

  • Knowledge of population health management

  • Demonstrated business and analytical/financial skills

  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma process improvement tools and techniques

  • Solid oral and written communication skill

Connecticut Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
