Description:

The client is looking for a Network Engineer to come in and support and maintain hardware in the environment. They are a full Cisco shop. This is a small IT team of 10 people, there for this person would not only have Cisco/Security responsibilities. This person is going to be helping with various different tasks - such as VOIP planning, Scope new switches, assisting w/ support, working with vendors, etc. This is a 24x7 operation. The primary focus of this role is to keep our clients' network up and running. Day to day you can expect to do firewall changes, site to site tunnel creation, reconfiguring switches, backing up switches, deploying new switches, etc. This person needs to be well versed in Next Gen Firewalls.

As a Senior Network Engineer at our client you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting our network infrastructure. You will work closely with the IT management team to ensure the stability and scalability of our network systems.

Key Responsibilities:

· Design, implement, and support Cisco network switches and firewalls in an enterprise production environment

· Design, implement, and support Palo Alto and CheckPoint in an enterprise production environment

· Configure and manage network routing protocols (e.g., BGP), subnetting, network ARPs, and traceroute

· Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure the reliability of our network systems

· Collaborate with other IT teams to implement network security measures and ensure compliance with company policies

· Document network designs, configurations, and procedures

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to members of our systems operations team

Requirements:

· 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco network switches and firewalls in an enterprise production environment

· 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting Palo Alto and CheckPoint in an enterprise production environment

· 2+ years of experience with network routing protocols (e.g., BGP), subnetting, network ARPs, and traceroute

· Strong knowledge of network security best practices

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Cisco, Palo Alto certifications are a plus

· Occasional travel to our Louisville and Phoenix facilities is required
