University of Maryland, Baltimore Health Program Director in Baltimore, Maryland

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Marlene & Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) is seeking a full-time Health Program Director within the Clinical Research Management Office (CRMO) to oversee the clinical trial activities of five hospital-based research sites. Following an extensive training program, the Heath Program Director will work with UMGCCC and CRMO Leadership to lead efforts and oversee the strategic direction of the University of Maryland Cancer Network (UMCN) ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. The Heath Program Director will be responsible for providing overall guidance and support to UMCN research teams, ensuring adherence to established SOP’s, regulatory requirements, and best practices in clinical research. The Health Program Director will also work closely with the CRMO Office of Quality Assurance on upcoming monitoring and audits at network sites. The Health Program Director will develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the UMCN sites to facilitate collaboration and support for research initiatives, as well as interface directly with the Principal investigators on UMCN protocols as well as the research team within and sponsor representatives external to UMGCCC. /Up to 25% travel will be required of this role as the sites within the UMCN are across the central and eastern half of Maryland. */ UMB offers acomprehensive benefits packagethat prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, and professional development. Exempt regular staff receive a generous leave package that includes over 4 weeks of vacation accrued each year, paid holidays, unlimited accrual of sick time, and comprehensive health insurance; professional learning and development programs; tuition remission for employees and their dependents at any University System of Maryland school; and flexible work schedules and teleworking options (if applicable per job). *Primary Duties * Uses subject matter expertise to plan and coordinate the content and delivery of a program involving patient care, clinical research or community health education. * Provides strategic direction for the health program, to include establishing goals, target groups, and desired outcomes. * Prepares, coordinates, and maintains program content and delivery methods for the daily operations and events within that specific organizational program. * Establishes service guidelines for patients, clinical subjects, and the community. * Reviews and approves protocols from research staff. Examines and evaluates program effectiveness and makes changes as necessary. * May interact with students, residents and physicians to coordinate patient care. * Coordinates the use of databases used to analyze criteria and deliver data, as well as to monitor, evaluate, and revise program operating policies and procedures. * Organizes and/or participate in various committees and teams to consult with program heads and administrative officials on policy and program needs as well as various administrative issues. * Coordinates the regular publication of summary reports and serves as an information resource to coworkers, the university, and external figures. * Develops funding sources for the program, through grant seeking, major fundraising events and/or donations. * Performs other duties as assigned. Education:Bachelor's degree in a health related field. Experience:Five (5) years of experience involving program planning and coordination experience in a related field. Supervisory Experience:Two (2) years experience of overall responsibility for program direction, coordination and implementation. Certification/Licensure:Appropriate state licensure may be required as defined based upon the nature of the program. Other:No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement.
