DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the CASSP Coordinator, you will provide in-person support to families throughout Lehigh County to help assess what services are needed and provide support to the family and their child until those services have been established.  Within this role, you will advocate for the best interest of the child in all child serving systems such as mental health, children and youth, juvenile probation, intellectual disabilities, and education. It is essential to maintain an expertise in program regulations of all child and adolescent serving systems and each system's structure and functions related to laws, regulations, policies, funding, and local practices.  You will provide detailed trainings about CASSP to child serving agencies as well as to providers, schools, and graduate school classes, in addition to participating in multi-system collaborations to gain further information on available community resources.  You will also have the opportunity to participate in various meetings to determine the effectiveness of current services available to children and families within the county as well as to identify gaps and limitations within children's services with the purpose of identifying possible changes to the current system.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, or Schuylkill counties.  If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
